This archive contains the CD image with all the files required to deploy the Cisco IP SoftPhone. Please download and unzip this file. CD-ROM This distribution contains the extracted version of all the installation and documentation files required. Please launch "Launch.exe" to install the components and view the documentation. =============================================================== Part 2: Documentation =============================================================== Obtaining Documentation ----------------------- The latest documentation for Cisco IP SoftPhone is available for download from CCO at the following URL: http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/voice/c_ipphon/ip_7960/softphon/ver_1_2/index.htm Documentation files are also available on the CD-ROM and in the ZIP archive downloadable from CCO, BUT BE AWARE THAT THESE MAY NOT BE THE LATEST VERSIONS OF THOSE DOCUMENTS. Document Files -------------- SoftPhoneAdminGuide.pdf - The Cisco IP SoftPhone Administrator Guide provides instructions for installing and administering the Cisco IP SoftPhone. This guide is intended for network and telephony administrators who will be deploying and administering the Cisco IP SoftPhone for end users. SoftPhoneUserGuide.pdf - The Cisco IP SoftPhone User Guide provides instructions for installing, configuring, and using the Cisco IP SoftPhone. This guide is intended for end-users who will be using Cisco IP SoftPhone to make and receive phone calls, do desktop collaboration, and/or control a Cisco IP Phone. QuickStartGuide.pdf - The Cisco IP SoftPhone Quick Start Guide. This guide is intended as a quick-start for end-users to get their Cisco IP SoftPhone up and running and to perform basic operations. ReleaseNotes.pdf - The Cisco IP SoftPhone Release Notes. Discusses known issues and caveats. Viewing Documentation --------------------- All the documents are in PDF format. Contains file contents and descriptions - Installation Notes Launch.exe - This launches the installation menu which consists of the following: - Cisco IP SoftPhone Application stand-alone installer. - Cisco IP SoftPhone Customization Tool - This allows system administrators to pre-set configuration information for Cisco IP SoftPhone in administrator customization files. These files are typically placed on a network or web server and made accessible to users when they install Cisco IP SoftPhone. - Cisco IP SoftPhone Web Administrator Utility - This enables system administrators to create a "One-Click Install" image of the Cisco IP SoftPhone installation on a web server. Users can download this installation file (or install from the web), install Cisco IP SoftPhone on their client PCs, and begin using Cisco IP SoftPhone without having to configure any settings. - Cisco IP SoftPhone Documentation =============================================================== Part 4: Installing from the CD-ROM =============================================================== Step 1, Insert the CD and run "Launch.exe". This launches an application that allows the user to view documentation and launch the necessary components. Step 2, See Part 5--Deploying Software. =============================================================== Part 5: Deploying the Software =============================================================== Step 1, Read the Cisco IP SoftPhone Administrator and User Guide to deploy the Cisco IP SoftPhone. Step 2, Install the Cisco IP SoftPhone client application. Step 3, Configure settings to be pushed to end-users as described in the Cisco IP SoftPhone Administrator and User Guides. Step 4, Run the Cisco IP SoftPhone Customization Tool to capture settings to be pushed to end-users. Step 5, Run the Cisco IP SoftPhone Web Administrator Utility to setup a web site for end-users to download and install the Cisco IP SoftPhone. *For a complete description, please refer to the Administrator and User Guides. =============================================================== Part 6: Support for Claritel-i750 USB Handset/Speakerphone =============================================================== Cisco IP SoftPhone 1.2(3) supports the Claritel-i750 USB Handset/Speakerphone.
